Attorneys

CGRS hires volunteer attorneys for legal internships through the fall, winter, and spring, generally for part-time or full-time positions. Cover letters, CVs, writing samples and 3 references can be sent to cgrshires@uclawsf.edu with the subject line "Volunteer Attorney Application." Applications are considered on a rolling basis.

Expert Witnesses

CGRS's expert witness database offers advocates free referrals to country specialists and health professionals who provide crucial expert testimony in asylum cases. Experts interested in being listed in the database can submit their information for consideration here.

Volunteer Opportunities

Dedicated and motivated volunteers play a key role in our work to defend refugees fleeing persecution. While the work varies depending on the skills and interests of each individual, volunteers with CGRS generally take on tasks performing vital human rights/country conditions research, identifying expert witnesses, conducting legal research, and working on development and communications to manage our social media and website. In the past, law students, undergraduate students and recent graduates, and attorneys have volunteered with CGRS.
