Job Opportunities
Thank you for your interest. We do not have any open positions at this time. Please check back!
Internship Opportunities
We are deeply appreciative of the contributions of law clerks, interns and volunteers; our work would not be possible without them.
Law Students
We are not accepting applications for law clerks at this time.
Law clerks are involved in the full range of CGRS’s work and work closely with CGRS lawyers and staff in our efforts to support attorneys representing asylum seekers and advance refugee law and policy. We hire for the summer, fall, and spring terms.
CGRS is not accepting applications for sponsored post-law school fellowships at this time. Please check back in the future.
Undergraduates and Recent Graduates
There are no open undergraduate internship positions at this time. Watch this space for upcoming opportunities!
Attorneys
CGRS hires volunteer attorneys for legal internships through the fall, winter, and spring, generally for part-time or full-time positions. Cover letters, CVs, writing samples and 3 references can be sent to cgrshires@uclawsf.edu with the subject line "Volunteer Attorney Application." Applications are considered on a rolling basis.
Volunteer Opportunities
Dedicated and motivated volunteers play a key role in our work to defend refugees fleeing persecution. While the work varies depending on the skills and interests of each individual, volunteers with CGRS generally take on tasks performing vital human rights/country conditions research, identifying expert witnesses, conducting legal research, and working on development and communications to manage our social media and website. In the past, law students, undergraduate students and recent graduates, and attorneys have volunteered with CGRS.
Pro Bono Attorney Opportunities
If you are a pro bono attorney and want to take on an asylum case, please contact the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights (LCCR).
Visiting Scholars
CGRS has been privileged to host attorneys, scholars, adjudicators, and other visitors from around the world as part of our Visiting Scholar program. For more information, contact us by email.
The Refugee and Human Rights Clinic
Students at UC Law San Francisco can receive credit for working with CGRS by enrolling in the Refugee and Human Rights Clinic. For application forms and more information about the clinic, click here.
