Please join CGRS for this webinar installment on changes affecting asylum law and policy under the new presidential administration. The terrorism bars to asylum and withholding of removal (often called "TRIG” or the “material support bar”) can lead to the denial of asylum applicants' applications. The webinar will walk through the basic structure of the terrorism bars, focusing on the recent designations of MS-13 and certain cartels as Tier I terrorist organizations, the breadth of the material support ground, and the availability of USCIS exemptions. The webinar will also discuss ethical and strategic considerations for advocates representing clients who may be impacted by the terrorism bar.

Attendees are highly encouraged to submit questions on the registration form.
