Gabriel works with the CGRS team in developing the strategic direction of the training and technical assistance programs. He is also involved with other CGRS program areas such as litigation and policy and advocacy in so far as it relates to training, resource development, or mentorship in the representation of asylum seekers.
Prior to joining CGRS, Gabriel worked at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project in Los Angeles, California. Over the course of a decade at Esperanza, Gabriel occupied various roles starting as a Staff Attorney working with children and culminating in the Director of Legal Representation overseeing the direct legal services provided to all of Esperanza’s clients. Gabriel’s experience has been focused on the representation of asylum seekers but also includes representing clients in a variety of forms of immigration relief both in and out of detention.
